The Chair Head Side Supports are designed to help patients who lean to the side when sitting. This can be the start of bad posture, and may even be dangerous.
They can be used next to the chest, or next to the head. By supporting the head, it may be possible to prevent the shoulders from moving. When someone starts to lean they may also roll forward as well, so by using the Chair Head Side Supports this may be prevented.
The Side Supports can also be fitted lower down the chair next to either the patient’s shoulders or chest depending on the size of the patient and their chair.
About the Chair Head Side Supports
There are two options available:
- Small triangular wedges
- Large curved wedges
Generally the large curved wedge is used for larger people, although smaller people also find this very supportive as it hugs the body.
The Supports are very easy to adjust so they are close to the patient.
The band is 1.45m / 4’9″ long and each end is split into two sections. The split strap allows for it to be placed with one side going over the arm of the chair and one side going underneath. This is only necessary when the arm of the chair is in the way.
Extension Straps
If you need some extra length around a chair, the Extension Straps should help. They are sold in a set of 2 and add an extra 50cm / 20″ to the length.
